EnterpriseWeb to Present to the Silicon Valley Telecom Council Forum

Making Carrier Virtualization Real

EnterpriseWeb presentation abstract for the Silicon Valley Telecom Council Forum, February 26, 2015, Presentation #3

Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and Software Defined Networking (SDN) are related movements for supporting next gen Telecom with the objective of bringing DevOps automation, service velocity and business agility to carriers. Analysts have pegged the market as high as $11B by 2018.

EnterpriseWeb offers a software platform that provides a Northbound API to the OSS/BSS, which hides implementation complexity. It enables carriers to test NFV and SDN use-cases at low cost and allows solutions to be rolled-out incrementally, based on success, to mitigate risk and promote non-disruptive transformation, accelerating time to market with new solutions.

Features:

  • An open multi-vendor catalog of Virtual Functions (EPC, eNodeB, IMS, CDN, etc.);
  • Support for Cloud-based Radio Access Network (C-RAN);
  • A platform for composing, orchestrating, monitoring and governing Network services; and
  • An overlay for observing network resources and automating service lifecycle management

The platform offers a “Network in a Box” an integrated solution that can be rapidly deployed on VMs at the core and edge, or be embedded in appliances.

EnterpriseWeb is the enabling technology behind CloudNFV, the first approved ETSI NFV Proof-of-Concept. Last June, CloudNFV was recognized by TM Forum as the “Most Innovative Catalyst” project.

The Company provides the high-level abstraction over both SDN and NFV necessary to allow management to express intent by policy without having to define implementation details so orders can be flexibly and dynamically deployed for a particular context and be automatically balanced to maintain QoS the life of the service. This allows the business to stay focused on customers, products and profits, while leveraging benefits of SDN and NFV (e.g. DevOps automation; service-velocity; and business agility).

CloudNFV offers a rich set of platform services (e.g. portal; role-based access control; VNF catalog; orchestration; analytics; lifecycle management; security; etc.), and provides a mechanism for virtually centralizing policy-management.
