EnterpriseWeb is leading an award-winning, multi-vendor Intel 5G RAN testbed. Stage 4 of the project is based on a Public MEC scenario with a secure 5G gateway use-case (SD-WAN/SASE) that is available for commercial trials. The 5G core is deployed in AWS cloud with a cluster of edge nodes running in Intel Labs with Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management. The goal of the testbed is to demonstrate an enhanced SMO that supports end-to-end automation across the RAN, Core and Edge with a service-oriented SON that flexibly picks up signals and telemetry from a variety of vectors so it can dynamically and continuously optimize services, slices, functions, network infrastructure (HW & SW), compute resources and power. Testing has shown consistent and predictable low-latency and energy consumption at scale, which is critical to the success of telecom MEC and sustainability initiatives. The testbed team includes Intel, AWS, Red Hat, Fortinet, Keysight, KX and Tech Mahindra.
